Mike, Chase and I spent last Tuesday morning practicing Hanami in Washington DC's Tidal Basin. Hanami is the Japanese pastime of viewing flowers, a tradition Mike and I have been lucky enough to experience in Japan and now we can experience it with our little blossom Chase :)
We started early and left the house at 5:30 am. We arrived at the Tidal Basin at 6:30 just in time for Daddy to jump out and get some great sunrise photos. Mommy and Chase hung out in the car with the heater - morning temp was 37 deg - until the sun was up. Chase loved eating breakfast in his car seat and using me as his personal jungle gym for an hour :)
We walked up and down the path amongst the blossoms for a while and then decided to head home before the DC traffic madness ensued. It was a really nice morning and a great experience with out little man!
